Quality Education in Nigeria — Young Female Voices You Need to Hear

As a young leader, Awele Otakpor cares about the Sustainable Development Goals because these goals are the future. Each of the goals looks independent at first glance, but they all depend on each other and in order to achieve them, she thinks we need Goal 17. A passionate young woman from Nigeria, Awele cares about the SDGs because she wants a better future for the coming generation. A world where there are equal rights for all, better climate and environment and most of all global peace, because the time to act is now.

We at Global Impact Network are constantly in the search for young motivated people who go beyond their dreams and capabilities, and when we heard her story, we thought that was exactly the voice we needed alongside our Ambassador team.

In 2019, Awele volunteered with an NGO called “READ A BOOK NIGERIA INITATIVE (RABNI)” where they taught children at one of the Internally Displaced Persons camp (IDP) in Abuja every Saturday for four months.

In supporting the children’s programme at the camp in 2019, she was watching the hit HBO Series GAME OF THRONES and there was a hashtag on line asking ”what are you doing for the throne”…she took wordings from the series and made items and sold them to raise money for QUALITY EDUCATION, its a moment in her life she would never forget, she was able to raise about N55,000.00!
